Vessel Penalized for Illegal Discharge at Bohai Bay, China
In response to recent findings, the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) officers in China have determined that a vessel illegally discharged pollutants at Bohai Bay and terminal. This action violates the 'Marine Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China' and the 'Provisions of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Marine Environment Pollution by Ships and Their Related Operational Activities'. Consequently, the vessel's manager will face administrative penalties, which will be formally communicated through a maritime penalty letter. Furthermore, the MSA officers have notified the ship's manager of a separate issue: the lack of documentation regarding sewage operation processes. While not currently penalized, this defect was brought to the manager's attention for corrective action.
