【Abstract】The preparation and determination experiment of ferrous ammonium sulfate is a classic experiment, which is often used as a competition project in various chemical competitions, testing students' understanding of chemical theory and standardized operation of inorganic experiments. This experiment is also a very typical inorganic analytical chemistry experiment in the basic chemistry discipline of this major. The experiment covers basic operations such as water bath heating, filtration, washing, dissolution, and evaporation and crystallization, and uses redox titration to determine the purity of ferrous ammonium sulfate. This paper explores the relevant conditions for the preparation of ferrous ammonium sulfate. Different proportions of reagents (ammonium sulfate and ferrous sulfate) were used in the process of preparing ferrous ammonium sulfate to precipitate different yields and purities of ferrous ammonium sulfate. After experimental research, it is concluded that the ratio of the amount of the main raw materials used to prepare ferrous ammonium sulfate with the highest purity is 1:1.02 for the substance amount ratio of ferrous sulfate to ammonium sulfate. 【Keywords】Preparation of ferrous ammonium sulfate; mole ratio; purity of ferrous ammonium sulfate
