Associate Degree in Applied Psychology: Enhancing My Capabilities and Passion for the Field

To enhance my capabilities, I embarked on pursuing an Associate degree in Social Science with a focus in Applied Psychology at UOW College Hong Kong in September 2022. Expected to graduate in June 2024, this program has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of core psychological concepts and theoretical frameworks. Foundational courses such as 'Introductory Psychology,' 'Social Psychology,' and 'Gender Studies' have laid a solid groundwork for further exploration and conducting relevant research.

One pivotal aspect of my studies has been the acquisition of proficiency in experimental research methods and techniques, as exemplified by my enrollment in the 'Fundamental Research Methods' course. This skill set will be crucial for the future practical application of psychology. Additionally, my encounter with Adeline, my instructor for 'Introduction to Psychology,' profoundly influenced my decision to pursue the study of psychology. Her unwavering passion, meticulous preparation, and personalized guidance ignited a deep enthusiasm within me for the subject, significantly enhancing my comprehension of diverse psychological concepts.

Ultimately, the major courses in psychology have contributed to the development of a robust knowledge base, empowering me to actively engage and make meaningful contributions to the field. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience, I am confident in my ability to excel in the study and application of psychology.
