In regards to losses, we have identified that the primary issue with the goods is heat loss. The imported soybeans are primarily used for producing soybean oil, with by-products being soybean meal, lecithin, and soap nuts. However, the crude fat content index of heat-damaged soybeans is almost identical to that of normal soybeans. This is because even if some of the crude fat is decomposed, its products can still dissolve in solvents, resulting in almost no change in the test index. Therefore, it is challenging to determine the loss of the goods directly through the test index.
According to relevant studies such as "Evaluation of Processing Losses of Microbial Spoilage Brazilian Soybeans" and "Analysis of Factors Affecting the Depreciation of Imported Bulk Soybean Residues," the loss of heat-damaged soybeans is mainly reflected in production and products. Processing this kind of damaged soybeans may cause product quality problems, lower yields, and increase various consumption. Different processing techniques and handling methods, such as whether to mix with normal soybeans for processing and the mixing ratio, will result in significant differences in the final calculated loss. Based on our experience, the usual method for calculating this type of cargo loss is to collect processing data of damaged goods and compare it with that of normal goods to obtain product yield loss and processing cost loss.
However, since we do not know the next steps for handling the goods by the consignee and the extent of the heat damage, we are currently unable to estimate the losses at this time
