Dear Admissions Committee,

During my high school years, my family went through a difficult time when my father lost his job. This caused my parents to experience anxiety and depression, and later on, I also saw many of my peers in college struggle with mental health issues due to academic stress and interpersonal problems. Unfortunately, when people sought help online, they often encountered negative diagnoses that only intensified their anxiety.

As a result, I became interested in psychology and began to study it alongside my computer science courses. I took courses such as College Mental Health, Stress Reduction and Self-Adjustment, and The Science of Happiness at The Greater Good Science Center of Berkeley. Through my studies, I learned a lot about stress reduction and anxiety relief techniques, which I shared with my family and friends. However, I noticed that many people only sought help from a psychologist when their problems were severe, and ignored the mild stressors in their lives.

To address this issue, I formed a team of three people and started building a website that provides easy-to-use stress reduction tools and techniques. Our website includes sleep aid music, guided positive meditation, ASMR audio, and other stress reduction activities commonly used in psychology. I also plan to incorporate artificial intelligence conversation models to help users train their own psychological counselor. My goal is to help people reduce their stress levels, improve their happiness, and lead better lives.

If accepted into the BGA program, I plan to take computer science and psychology-related courses at Berkeley to deepen my knowledge in these fields. I also hope to join a professor's lab as a research assistant and participate in research projects. Furthermore, I plan to transfer to a U.S. university in my junior year to pursue a dual degree in computer science and psychology. The free course selection at U.S. universities is very attractive to me, and I am eager to experience the U.S. undergraduate teaching style through an exchange at Berkeley.

If I were to receive this scholarship, I would invest it in building our team and recruiting more like-minded individuals to work on our software project. This exchange experience would be invaluable in my future academic and professional development.

Thank you for considering my application. I hope to be given the opportunity to participate in the BGA program and make a positive impact in the world
