The concept of "curriculum ideological and political education" has since been widely discussed in academic circles, sparking a research trend.

"Curriculum ideological and political education" refers to the integration of theoretical knowledge, value concepts, spiritual pursuits, and other elements of ideological and political education into the curriculum. As the basic element of every major, the classroom is the main channel for implementing specific teaching tasks and has an important role in shaping students' ideological consciousness and behavior. The promotion and implementation of "curriculum ideological and political education" plays a crucial role in shaping students' correct values and promoting their positive development.

Due to the special nature of language and culture, English majors are not only a primary way to understand and recognize foreign cultures but also the main battlefield for preventing the infiltration of Western ideological influence. Compared with other majors, English courses involve more value conflicts, and the disciplinary attributes determine that English major courses will become a main battlefield for curriculum ideological and political education construction. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate curriculum ideological and political elements into professional knowledge learning in English majors. In current research, theoretical studies include research on the connotation definition of English curriculum ideological and political education, such as the teacher-led foreign language curriculum ideological and political education, which helps to shape students' values, emotions, and other aspects through teaching content to play a positive role in multiple aspects. In addition, empirical research results that integrate "curriculum ideological and political education" elements with specific English courses are also relatively rich, such as the integration of "curriculum ideological and political education" with Chinese culture and the innovative classroom teaching mode.

Currently, most research is from the teacher's perspective, discussing and researching how to implement curriculum ideological and political education. However, effective teaching is dedicated to the unity of teaching results, efficiency, and effectiveness. If the teacher-led curriculum ideological and political education does not receive positive feedback from students or the students' acceptance is not high, it cannot be considered effective curriculum ideological and political education. However, research from the student's perspective on the effectiveness of curriculum ideological and political education is still relatively scarce.

Therefore, this paper starts from the student's perspective, using questionnaires, reflection notes, and semi-open interviews to study the effectiveness of English curriculum ideological and political education from the student's perspective. It hopes to open up new research perspectives, enrich the research scope of English curriculum ideological and political education, provide teaching feedback, and promote the improvement and optimization of English curriculum ideological and political education
