Jean Paul Gaultier

Jean Paul Gaultier is a French fashion designer known for his avant-garde and unconventional designs. He was born in 1952 in Arcueil, France, and grew up in a suburb of Paris. Gaultier started his career in fashion as an assistant to Pierre Cardin in 1970 and later worked for Jean Patou.

In 1976, Gaultier launched his own fashion label and quickly gained recognition for his unique designs that challenged traditional gender norms and celebrated diversity. He is known for his use of unconventional materials, such as PVC and metal, and his incorporation of streetwear and punk elements into high fashion.

Gaultier's designs have been worn by many celebrities, including Madonna, who famously wore his cone bra on her 1990 Blond Ambition Tour. He has also designed costumes for films, including The Fifth Element and The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover.
