Platelet Protein Expression Analysis in Liver Cancer: Insights into Differential Regulation
Protein expression analysis was conducted on peripheral platelets in patients with NC, HCC, and mLC, using the proteomics results provided. A total of 3,466 and 3,199 proteins were identified and quantified, respectively.
In liver cancer patients, approximately 15% of the quantified proteins showed differential expression (Fig. 1A). Among these proteins, around 70% exhibited similar differential expression in both HCC and mLC patients, indicating a small difference in platelet protein expression between these two groups (Fig. 1B). To further explore the dysregulated proteins in liver cancer patients, gene ontology (GO), KEGG, and Reactome enrichment analyses were performed. These analyses revealed enrichment of proteins involved in cell-cell adhesion, platelet degranulation, platelet activation, and signaling and aggregation (Fig. 2C).
