In APA format, citing a newspaper article would look like this:

Last name, First initial. (Year, Month Day). Article title. Newspaper name, page numbers.

For example:

Smith, J. (2021, May 10). New study finds benefits of exercise for mental health. The New York Times, pp. A1, A4.

Note that the newspaper name is italicized, and the page numbers are included if the article is not on a single page. If the article has no author, the citation would begin with the article title.
