We are writing to provide an explanation regarding the inspection of the cargo as the recipient's insurance inspector. During the discharging process, our surveyor observed some moldy cargo and was appointed to conduct an inspection of the cargo's condition. Upon completion of the discharging, our surveyor conducted a final draft survey to determine the quantity of cargo discharged. Unfortunately, our surveyor did not have access to the initial draft survey data as they boarded the ship after the discharging had commenced. Therefore, the report is for our personal reference only and is not binding on the recipient.
We would like to inform you that the actual quantity of cargo discharged is 0.702% less than the B/L figure. According to the shore scale, the actual quantity of cargo discharged is 68796.95 tons. Our surveyor observed that all cargoes were being discharged into the silo via the conveyor belt, and prior to entering the silo, they must pass through a calibrated shore scale for weighing. The weighing process is fully automated, which leads us to conclude that the data obtained from the shore scale is highly dependable.
