Audie Murphy

Audie Murphy (1925-1971) was an American soldier and actor. He is one of the most decorated soldiers in American history, having received every combat award for valor that the U.S. Army could bestow, including the Medal of Honor, for his actions during World War II.

After the war, Murphy became a successful actor, appearing in over 40 films. He also wrote several memoirs about his experiences in the war, including his bestselling autobiography "To Hell and Back."

Murphy continued to struggle with PTSD throughout his life, and died in a plane crash in 1971 at the age of 46. He is remembered as one of the greatest war heroes in American history, and as an advocate for veterans' rights and mental health awareness
