Abstract: The measured evapotranspiration is one of the main indicators for studying the water balance and hydrological cycle of ecosystems. However, in the actual monitoring process, due to instrument errors, natural conditions and other reasons, negative values exist in the evapotranspiration data, which can cause difficulties for subsequent analysis and applications. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for processing negative values of evapotranspiration based on smoothing filtering. By smoothing the measured data, the negative values are eliminated, while the trend and characteristics of the data are preserved. Experimental results show that this method can effectively process negative data, improve the reliability and usability of the data.
