Elevated TGF-β Transcription in Fish Infected with Gyrodactylus Parasites: A Study on the Advanced Stage of Infection
Severe tissue damage was observed in the skin and fins of fish infested with Gyrodactylus parasites [2]. In our study, we noticed a significant increase in the transcription level of TGF-β primarily during the advanced stage of infection. These results align with previous studies exploring TGF-β gene expression in tissues infected with monogeneans.
