Elevated TGF-β Transcription in Fish Infected with Gyrodactylus Parasites

Severe tissue damage was observed in the skin and fins of fish infested with Gyrodactylus parasites [2]. In this study, an elevated transcription level of TGF-β was primarily observed during the late stage of infection. These findings are consistent with previous research investigating TGF-β gene expression in tissues infected with monogeneans.
