The Importance of Limiting Direct Quotations in Research Note-Taking

In taking notes, students often tend to excessively rely on direct quotation, leading to an excessive use of quotations in the final research paper. It is recommended that only a small portion, approximately 10%, of the final manuscript should consist of direct quotations.
