The present study reveals that a portion of the augmented moisture content in the North West Coast (NWC) originates from oceanic sources, particularly the North Indian Ocean (NIO) and the Pacific Northwest (NWP). This moisture is directly transported to the NWC, while the residual portion, upon landing, is conveyed to the NWC through local evaporation, thus serving as an indirect oceanic source. Consequently, the augmented annual wet precipitation in the NWC can be attributed, at least in part, to this indirect oceanic source.
