Longitudinal Assessment of the EORTC QLU-C10D in Chinese Breast Cancer Patients: Reliability, Responsiveness, and Cultural Adaptation
The EORTC QLU-C10D is a cancer-specific preference-based measure that represents a novel approach in measuring cancer-related quality of life. Previous studies have compared the measurement properties of different versions of the scale, including the 3L, 5L, and C10D, but these studies were all conducted in a cross-sectional manner. In order to gain a better understanding of the measurement properties of the QLU-C10D and to explore the advantages of using both the generic scale 5L and the cancer-specific scale C10D in breast cancer patients, this study was designed as a longitudinal investigation. The primary objective of this study was to assess the reliability and responsiveness of the C10D scale.
To ensure that the results obtained from this study are culturally relevant and applicable to the Chinese population, the study utilized value sets that were specifically developed for the C10D and 5L scales in China. By doing so, the scales were able to capture the unique experiences and perspectives of Chinese patients, which in turn enhanced the accuracy and sensitivity of the assessments. Moreover, the use of culturally adapted value sets ensured the reliability and comparability of the data across different populations.
