The impact of driving difficulty variables on the convenience conditions of ADAS is shown in Table 6. It can be observed that visual impairment-induced driving difficulty (0.150, 1.946*) has a significant positive effect on convenience conditions, while hearing impairment-induced driving difficulty (-0.261, -2.944**) has a significant negative effect. This suggests that compared to driving difficulties caused by visual impairment, hearing impairment-induced driving difficulties are more likely to make drivers doubt their ability to operate ADAS safely.
Judging distance difficulties (0.109, 2.02*) have a significant positive influence on drivers' intention to accept ADAS, indicating that the more severe drivers perceive difficulties in judging distances, the more likely they are to purchase and use ADAS-equipped vehicles. Judging distance difficulties (0.109, 2.02*), complex traffic driving difficulties (0.128, 1.495*), and memory decline-induced driving difficulties (0.185, 1.911*) have a significant positive impact on drivers' intention to accept ADAS. This suggests that the more severe drivers perceive difficulties in judging distances, driving in complex traffic conditions, and memory decline-induced driving difficulties, the more likely they are to purchase and use ADAS-equipped vehicles. Hearing impairment-induced driving difficulty (-0.206, -2.275*) has a significant negative impact on drivers' intention to accept ADAS, implying that hearing impairment-induced driving difficulties and reaction decline-induced driving difficulties further affect drivers' doubt about their own driving abilities and their ability to operate ADAS proficiently, leading to a negative attitude towards using ADAS. However, these drivers often require the assistance of driving assistance systems. Therefore, more targeted training should be provided to this group to instill confidence in their proficient use of ADAS, promoting safer driving.
