Radiation to Ambient Boundary Condition: Modeling Heat Transfer in COMSOL

This node, 'Radiation to Ambient,' allows you to account for the thermal radiation occurring between a boundary surface and the surrounding environment within your COMSOL simulations.

The node calculates the net inward heat flux from surface-to-ambient radiation using the following principles:

• Heat transfer due to radiation: This mode of heat exchange becomes significant at higher temperatures and doesn't require a medium for propagation.
• Net inward heat flux: This value represents the difference between incoming radiation absorbed by the surface and outgoing radiation emitted by the surface. It quantifies the net radiative heat gain or loss by the surface.
