Zheng He: The Legendary Chinese Explorer and His Treasure Voyages

Zheng He, also known as Cheng Ho, was a 15th-century Chinese explorer and mariner during the Ming Dynasty. He led seven major expeditions, known as the 'Treasure Voyages,' between 1405 and 1433. Zheng He commanded a massive fleet of ships, including treasure ships that were several times larger than European vessels of that time. His voyages aimed to establish diplomatic relations, expand trade, and demonstrate China's power and influence.
