Abstract: We investigate the photodetection performance of two-dimensional materials (graphene and molybdenum disulfide) on silicon photodiodes. By covering the surface of silicon photodiodes with two-dimensional materials, their photodetection performance can be significantly enhanced. Experimental results show that the sensitivity of the silicon photodiodes covered with two-dimensional materials is improved by 2 to 3 orders of magnitude in the visible and near-infrared range. In addition, the presence of two-dimensional materials can improve the response speed and linearity of silicon photodiodes. These results suggest that two-dimensional materials can be used as effective photodetection materials to enhance the photodetection performance of silicon photodiodes.
