This study investigates the impact of varying Bi content on the microstructure evolution and properties of Sn-6.5Zn-XBi lead-free solder alloy. We analyzed the microstructure from the perspective of alloy microstructure and crystal structure, and conducted experiments to evaluate its melting properties, oxidation resistance, wettability, and corrosion resistance.
Our findings reveal that the Sn-6.5Zn-3.0Bi brazing alloy exhibits superior wettability and oxidation resistance compared to other compositions, indicating its potential for various engineering applications. This research provides valuable insights into the relationship between Bi content, microstructure, and properties in Sn-6.5Zn-XBi alloys, contributing to the development and application of lead-free solders.
