ISQ Scores as Predictors of Experimental Itch Intensity: A Linear Regression Analysis

This study explored whether scores on the Itch Severity Questionnaire (ISQ) could better predict experimental itch intensity rating scores compared to depression, anxiety, and pain sensitivity. A linear regression analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between the dependent variable, experimental itch intensity rating score, and several independent variables, including scores on the ISQ, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (SAI), Trait Anxiety Inventory (TAI), and Pain Sensitivity Questionnaire (PSQ). Initially, age and gender were controlled for in the analysis. Subsequently, the stepwise selection method was employed to select the independent variables.
