We are excited to announce the completion of our study, funded by an ESPEN research fellowship, that investigates kidney function using a novel approach. Our research employed both sodium MRI and proton MRI coils to examine the distribution of sodium, oxygenation of the kidney, and renal hemodynamics. This combined imaging technique allows for a comprehensive analysis of renal function, providing valuable insights into the interplay between sodium distribution, oxygenation levels, and blood flow within the kidney.

While data collection is complete, we are currently in the process of analyzing the findings. We anticipate that this analysis will reveal important correlations between the spatial distribution of sodium within the kidney and its relationship to renal oxygenation and hemodynamics.

We are eager to share our findings with the scientific community and plan to present our data in one of the sessions next year. We believe that the results of this study have the potential to significantly advance our understanding of kidney physiology and potentially guide future research and clinical practices in the field of nephrology.
