Understanding Figure 4: Opening Angle and Goodness of Fit in Object Recognition

Thank you for bringing the lack of clarity in our previous post to our attention. As you correctly pointed out, the highest point on the curve indicates the opening angle of the recognized object. In Figure 4, the horizontal axis represents the opening angle of the fan aperture, while the vertical axis represents the goodness of fit calculated by comparing the experimental data with the theoretical values using Equation 8. The goodness of fit serves as our recognition criterion, ranging from negative infinity to 1. A value closer to 1 indicates a stronger agreement between the experimental and theoretical values. Therefore, the highest point on the curve corresponds to the horizontal coordinate representing the size of the recognized sector aperture opening.
