Impact of Land Use/Land Cover Change on Multi-level Ecosystem Service Supply-Demand Balance in the Yangtze River Economic Belt

Understanding the effects of land use/land cover changes (LUCCs) on the balance between ecosystem service (ES) supply and demand is crucial for maintaining regional sustainable land management. Existing research on LUCC effects on ESs has examined various dimensions and scales. However, the intricate relationship between LUCCs and ES supply and demand across multiple administrative levels remains insufficiently investigated.

This study aims to quantify the influence of LUCCs on the multi-level supply-demand balance of ESs, including water conservation, food production, carbon sequestration, and soil retention, to optimize land management in the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) from 2010 to 2030.
