Basic Darwin

Charles Darwin was a 19th-century English naturalist who is best known for his theory of evolution by natural selection. He traveled around the world on the HMS Beagle and collected specimens and observations that led him to develop this theory. Darwin's theory states that individuals with certain traits that are better suited to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce, passing on these advantageous traits to their offspring. Over time, this natural selection can lead to the development of new species. Darwin's ideas were controversial at the time, but they have since become widely accepted in the scientific community.
