Impact of Irrigation Levels on Wheat Yield and Variability: A Six-Year Field Study
This study aims to determine the effects of different irrigation levels on the critical period of wheat growth and water stress, and to establish a theoretical basis for understanding how weather conditions and water management impact winter wheat yield and yield variability. Additionally, this study aims to provide effective management strategies for wheat in water-scarce areas and adaptation strategies for climate change. To achieve these objectives, we analyzed six years of field trial data to (i) evaluate grain yield and water use under three different water treatments, (ii) investigate the factors contributing to yield differences among the treatments, and (iii) identify sources of inter-annual yield variability influenced by weather conditions and water management. Through these analyses, we aim to contribute to the existing knowledge base and inform future research in this field.
