Coprocessor

A coprocessor is a specialized processor that is designed to perform a specific task or set of tasks alongside the main processor in a computer. It works in conjunction with the main processor to accelerate certain operations and improve overall system performance. Coprocessors can be used for various functions, such as graphics processing, signal processing, encryption/decryption, and floating-point calculations. Examples of coprocessors include graphics processing units (GPUs), digital signal processors (DSPs), and math coprocessors. Coprocessors can be integrated into the main processor, as in the case of Intel's Pentium processors, or they can be separate chips that are installed on the motherboard.
