The Art and Science of Leadership: Leveraging Envy as a 'Tool'

For me, the first takeaway from reading this article is a deeper understanding of the emotion of envy. People often view envy as a negative emotion, but it has different origins and manifestations, and its impacts vary. Utilizing the positive aspects of envy is a novel approach, and through reasonable guidance and intervention, envy can be used as an 'office tool' to shift the dual extremes of continuous emotional variables. At the same time, I also realize that instead of stifling emotions, correct guidance is often more effective. So it seems that leadership is indeed an art and a science, requiring high levels of both intelligence and emotional intelligence.
