Augmented Reality Spatial Registration for Spinal Surgery Navigation: A Novel Approach

The augmented reality spatial registration method proposed in this study, based on 2D/3D registration technology, can be applied in an augmented reality-based spinal surgery navigation system for registering medical images and patients. This intraoperative method of obtaining the relationship between medical images and patients avoids the trauma caused by preoperative rigid connections. By using personalized markers to dynamically register the virtual model's position in the world coordinate system, the spinal model is registered and fused with the reconstructed 3D virtual image. The key technologies established have significant innovation. In future research, specific characteristics and requirements of clinical practice will be targeted to promote the technology's promotion and application in the clinical setting.
