The Correlation Between Polymer Concentration and Solution Viscosity: An Analysis of PAM-C22
The Correlation Between Polymer Concentration and Solution Viscosity: An Analysis of PAM-C22
The correlation between solution concentration and viscosity is illustrated in Figure 7 (a). The experiment was carried out at a temperature of 25℃. The figure demonstrates that the viscosity of each polymer solution escalates with the increase in polymer concentration. Notably, the viscosity of the PAM-C22 solution surpasses that of the other polymer solutions at all concentrations. With the increase in concentration, the viscosity advantage becomes more prominent. At a concentration of 1% in the polymer solution, a distinct direct correlation is observed between the viscosity of the solution and the length of the alkyl chain in the polymer's hydrophobic monomer. In comparison to the PAM solution, the viscosity shows an increase of 5.0%, 11.9%, 24.9%, and 60.2% from PAM-C8 to PAM-C22, correspondingly.
