During rest, 135 cases of right-to-left shunting (RLS) were detected by cTTE, and 140 cases were detected by cTEE. During Valsalva maneuver, 186 cases of RLS were detected by both cTTE and cTEE, indicating a significant increase in the detection rate of PFO-RLS with both methods. Among patients with detected right-to-left shunting PFO, there were 27 cases of grade I, 31 cases of grade II, and 128 cases of grade III in cTTE; and 80 cases of grade I, 56 cases of grade II, and 50 cases of grade III in cTEE.
