At the time of our attendance, we observed that the overboard valves of the sewage pipeline and gray water pipeline had been closed. Additionally, the changeover valve of the sewage pipeline, which allows for direct discharge to the sea, was closed and locked. We were informed by the crew that the sewage was being discharged to the AFT peak tank after undergoing treatment. The crew had closed the overboard valves upon receiving instructions from the MSA officers, who had informed them that the treated sewage could not be discharged.
