Introduction As a medical student studying Chinese medicine, I had the opportunity to intern at the rehabilitation department of a local hospital. The department mainly uses Chinese medicine to help patients restore their damaged functions. In this report, I will summarize and evaluate my one-month internship experience.

Department Overview The rehabilitation department mainly uses Chinese medicine to restore the damaged functions of patients. The methods include acupuncture, massage, exercise therapy, and the use of health care equipment. Patients mainly include patients with stroke hemiplegia, knee osteoarthritis, and other chronic diseases related to sports.

Experience Summary During my internship, I learned about TCM rehabilitation and practiced TCM rehabilitation treatment for several inpatients. I was able to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients under the guidance of experienced doctors. I also learned about the medical equipment used in the department.

I found that the rehabilitation process is not only about physical recovery but also about psychological support. Patients need encouragement and motivation during the treatment process. Successes During my internship, I achieved small successes in the treatment of several inpatients. One of the patients had knee osteoarthritis and was unable to walk without assistance. Another patient had stroke hemiplegia and was unable to move their left arm and leg. After several exercise therapy sessions, the patient's muscle strength had improved, and they were able to move their limbs slightly.
