Coupling Coordination of Human Capital and AI in China: A Regional Analysis

This study analyzes the coupling coordination degree between human capital and artificial intelligence (AI) in China. Results indicate a rising trend in coordinated development, demonstrating an increasing synergy between these two elements. Notably, growth momentum peaked in 2013 and 2015 before entering a period of decline post-2017. Regionally, while all areas exhibit an upward trajectory, the eastern region consistently outperforms others. This disparity is substantial, with the eastern region's coordinated development approximately 1.03 times greater than other regions from 2011 to 2019. These findings highlight the persistent regional imbalances in leveraging AI's potential and emphasize the need for targeted policies to foster balanced development across China.
