This paper conducts a literature review on the relationship between litigation risk, corporate performance, and the impact of litigation risk on corporate performance. The review finds that previous research has produced a wealth of results on this topic. Scholars both domestically and abroad have generally reached a consensus that litigation risk has a negative effect on corporate performance. However, due to the challenges of dividing enterprise life cycles and obtaining relevant data for Science and Technology Innovation Board companies, there is a lack of research on how litigation risk affects the performance of these companies. The opening of the Science and Technology Innovation Board provides an opportunity to investigate the impact of litigation risk on these companies, and this paper aims to fill this gap.

Additionally, the existing literature has not fully explored the influence of litigation risk on corporate performance from the perspective of enterprise size and heterogeneity of corporate litigation strategies. Therefore, this paper proposes a theoretical model and empirical analysis that takes into account these factors. Specifically, this paper uses data from companies listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board from 2017 to 2021 to demonstrate the impact of litigation risk on corporate performance. By analyzing the data from the perspective of enterprise size and litigation strategy, this paper aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the mechanism of action of litigation risk on corporate performance.

The research findings of this paper not only enrich the theoretical research on litigation risk and corporate performance, but also provide practical guidance for Science and Technology Innovation Board companies to better manage litigation risks and improve their corporate performance
