A patient presented with symptoms suggestive of carotid artery plaque rupture. Following a contrast-enhanced ultrasound examination, a definitive diagnosis was made, revealing the presence of an ulcer and a floating thrombus, both consequences of the ruptured plaque. To further validate these findings, subsequent examinations employing CTA (computed tomography angiography) and DSA (digital subtraction angiography) were conducted. Both of these imaging modalities corroborated the initial diagnosis, confirming the presence of the ulcer and floating thrombus.
