We have studied the mechanism of thermal error generation in the feed system and obtained the heat generation laws of X-axis feed system with inclined arrangement and Z-axis feed system with horizontal arrangement during the operation of the machine tool. We analyzed the impact of non-motion heat generation and motion heat generation on the thermal error of the feed system and obtained the temperature field and thermal deformation field of X-axis feed system under non-motion heat generation condition by establishing a finite element model of the feed system
