In terms of sampling, it is recommended that the sampling method used be consistent with the method declared in the loading port quality certificate. However, we have noted that the loading port quality certificate (cargo information) did not declare the sampling method used. Typically, Brazilian soybeans are sampled according to the FOSFA method. As per the SGS surveyor, they have been authorized by the shipper to sample according to the FOSFA method.

Since we do not have the FOSFA sampling qualification, we suggest that SGS be jointly commissioned for sampling since they were involved at the earliest opportunity. SGS has provided a quote of 1.05 yuan per ton per party for the joint commission. If our principal decides to jointly commission SGS with the consignee for sampling, we recommend arranging for another surveyor to supervise the sampling.

Alternatively, our principal can separately commission ITS, a company with FOSFA sampling qualification, for sampling, and their quotation is 1.5 yuan per ton for the entire cargo.
