High POC and Chl a values were observed at 4 profiles stations R1 R2 R5 and A12 which are corresponding to shallow ferriclines While low POC and Chl a were observed at stations with low Fe concentrati
Overall, our study highlights the importance of iron supply in regulating biological productivity and phytoplankton composition in the Southern Ocean. The use of disappearance ratios provided insight into the stoichiometry of nutrient uptake by dominant phytoplankton functional groups, which can be useful for biogeochemical modeling efforts. Future studies should continue to investigate the complex interactions between iron, nutrients, and phytoplankton in the Southern Ocean, in order to improve our understanding of the region's role in global biogeochemical cycles.
