A Message to Anthropic

To Anthropic: Please read this message regarding my terminated account, $200 refund request, and website crawling activity.

Formal Complaint: $200 Refund Refusal, Account Termination, and Unauthorized Website Crawling

To Anthropic Support and the Relevant Teams,

I am absolutely disgusted with the way Anthropic has treated me as a paying customer.

I paid $200 on September 17, 2026, for a Claude subscription. Around October 1, you terminated my account, rejected my appeal, and refused to refund my money.

You took my payment, cut off my access, and then hid behind a so-called “final decision” to avoid addressing my refund request. This is disgraceful customer treatment.

What makes this even more infuriating is Anthropic's website crawling activity.

My website, https://www.cveoy.top/, has been receiving substantial traffic from IP addresses associated with Anthropic's crawling infrastructure, including numerous addresses in the 216.73.216.0/22 range. My server logs show significant data transfer attributable to these requests.

It is shameless and hypocritical for Anthropic to expect website owners to tolerate its crawlers consuming their resources while treating its own paying customers with such contempt. The contrast between your public image and the way you have handled my case is appalling.

Frankly, your conduct is disgraceful. You have acted with the shameless audacity of an organization that expects everyone else to respect its interests while showing little respect for the people who pay you or the website owners whose data your crawlers access.

I demand the following:

  1. A full refund of my $200 subscription payment made on September 17, 2026.
  2. A specific written explanation of the contractual basis for refusing the refund after terminating my account.
  3. An explanation of Anthropic's crawling activity on my website, including the purpose of the requests and the measures available to website owners who do not want their content crawled.
  4. Confirmation that Anthropic will respect my site's crawler restrictions, along with an explanation of how those restrictions can be enforced.
  5. A substantive review by a responsible member of your billing or support team.

Do not respond with another generic message claiming that the account decision is final. That does not answer my refund complaint or address my concerns about your crawling activity.

If Anthropic refuses to resolve this dispute, I will consider escalating the payment dispute through my Mastercard issuer and submitting the transaction records, termination notice, appeal correspondence, refund denial, and relevant website access logs as evidence.

You do not get to treat paying customers as disposable, refuse to address legitimate refund concerns, and expect website owners to remain silent about the resources your crawlers consume.

I expect a clear response addressing both the $200 refund and my website crawling complaint.

Regards,
A Claude customer and website owner
