The deformation and failure of gentle slope landslides are easily influenced by heavy rainfall due to their small terrain slope. In order to investigate the impact of heavy rainfall on the revival deformation and stability of landslides, a coupled simulation of seepage-stress under conditions of heavy rainfall was conducted using the TDL landslide in Zigui County, Hubei Province as an example. The evolution of pore water pressure, displacement field and stability under different rainfall conditions during the revival deformation process of the landslide was analyzed. The research shows that the step deformation of the gentle TDL landslide is closely related to concentrated heavy rainfall. Rainfall causes the pore water pressure inside the landslide to gradually increase from the back to the front, with the front responding the fastest. The stability coefficient of the landslide gradually decreases during the rainfall process, with the most significant decrease occurring within 24 hours. This has certain reference value for understanding the deformation mechanism and warning of landslides caused by heavy rainfall.
