Public Health Master's Applicant: Nursing Background and Research Experience

As a nursing student preparing for the cross-discipline graduate entrance examination for public health, I have a strong foundation in research and clinical practice. I have actively pursued opportunities to enhance my knowledge and skills in public health, which will enable me to make a positive impact on the health of the population.

One of my key research experiences involved participating in a nationally-funded research project titled 'Self-management Plan for COPD Stable Phase Patients Based on Information Needs.' Through this project, I gained valuable knowledge in research methodology, data analysis, and result interpretation. My role involved assisting with data collection, analysis, and presentation of findings, which allowed me to develop essential research skills.

Furthermore, I hold the ICH-GCP certificate and have participated in GCP training organized by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. These programs have deepened my understanding of the principles and guidelines of clinical research, which will be invaluable in future research projects. I am committed to conducting ethical and high-quality research.

During my internship at Hangzhou Normal University Affiliated Hospital, I have had the opportunity to attend several small lectures conducted by various departments. These sessions provided an in-depth understanding of the clinical reasoning process and how it can be applied to different patient cases. I have also presented my research findings during one of these lectures, which helped me develop my presentation skills and confidently communicate research findings.

In addition to my research and clinical experience, I have also led a community-based project aimed at preventing falls in elderly individuals. Although the project did not receive an award, it taught me the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and effective communication. The project involved developing and implementing a falls prevention program, which included educational workshops and home safety assessments. This experience allowed me to work closely with the community and gain valuable insights into the needs of vulnerable populations.

My research experience, training programs, clinical exposure, and community-based project have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of public health principles and practices. I am confident that these experiences will enable me to contribute significantly to the research community and make a positive impact on the health of the population. I am eager to pursue a master's degree in public health and further develop my skills in research, policy analysis, and program evaluation.
