Recently, numerous studies have utilized the plastome to address different classification problems. Here, we chose to use the plastome to construct the phylogenetic relationship of the Phlegmariurus genus in China and its neighboring regions. The sampling of plastome data in this study covered all species of Phlegmariurus in China (Jiang, 2022), and the samples of nrDNA datasets covered 21 individuals for each of the four sections. This study is the first time to construct a relatively stable phylogenetic framework based on plastome and nrDNA datasets and also combined with morphological characteristics for the sectional treatment of Phlegmariurus in China (Figure 3). These data also complement the inadequate sampling of Asia in previous Phlegmariurus studies (2018)
